Refund & Cancellation Policy — South-West Tender Brief
Last updated: 12 May 2026
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It explains how cancellation and refunds work for the paid South-West Tender Brief subscription (£89/year). The free monthly tier costs nothing, so there’s nothing to refund — just unsubscribe via the link in any digest.
1. Your 14-day cancellation right (new subscribers)
If you’ve just subscribed for the first time, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of your purchase and get a full refund of the £89, for any reason or none. Email support@swtenderbrief.co.uk within 14 days of your purchase and we’ll refund you in full to your original payment method, normally within 5 working days. You don’t have to give a reason. (We’ll stop sending you the paid digest once you cancel.)
This applies to your first purchase. It doesn’t reset on each annual renewal.
2. Cancelling later / at renewal
You can cancel at any time:
- through the account-management link in every digest (the Stripe Customer Portal), or
- by emailing support@swtenderbrief.co.uk.
Cancelling stops your subscription from renewing. You keep access to the paid digest until the end of the year you’ve already paid for — we don’t cut you off early. After that you’re moved to the free monthly tier unless you ask us to remove you entirely.
We email a reminder about 14 days before each renewal so a renewal charge never comes as a surprise.
3. Refund of a renewal you didn’t want
If your subscription auto-renews and you contact us within 30 days of that renewal charge, having not opened or used any weekly digest sent in that new period, we’ll give you a full refund of that renewal and cancel the subscription. Outside 30 days, or if you’ve been using the digests, see section 4.
4. Refunds outside the above — at our discretion
We’re a small operation and we’d rather have a happy ex-subscriber than a £89 you resent paying. If you cancel partway through a paid year and ask for a refund, we may — at our discretion — refund you the unused portion on a pro-rata basis (whole unused months, rounded down). Just email us and explain. We’re more likely to say yes the closer it is to the start of the period and the less you’ve used the Service.
We won’t generally refund:
- the used portion of a paid year you’ve had the benefit of;
- a subscription we’ve ended because you seriously breached the Terms of Service.
5. If we end or change the Service
If we permanently discontinue the paid Service, or change it so substantially that it’s no longer what you signed up for, we’ll refund the unused portion of your current paid year on a pro-rata basis without you having to ask.
6. How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to your original payment method via Stripe. We don’t issue cash, cheques, or credit to a different card. Refunds normally appear within 5–10 working days depending on your card issuer.
7. Disputes / chargebacks
If something’s gone wrong, please email us first — support@swtenderbrief.co.uk — we’ll almost always sort it out faster than a chargeback. If you do raise a chargeback, we’ll respond with our records (your signup, the digests sent, your acceptance of these terms). Nothing here removes your statutory rights or your right to complain to your card issuer.
8. Statutory rights
This policy is in addition to, and doesn’t affect, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
